Youth soccer is open to youth players aged 11 – 18. There is no requirement to have any previous skills or experience with soccer. Recreation youth soccer is primarily focused on ensuring players have fun and are being active while developing basic soccer skills. Youth soccer is licensed and sanctioned by the Manitoba Soccer Association (MSA).
The outdoor season runs from the beginning of May through the end of June.
The games for the outdoor season vary depending on the age group.
- U9 and U10 grassroots will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Even numbered ages (U12, U14, U16 and U18) typically play on Mondays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays
- Odd numbered ages (U11, U13, U15 and U17) typically play on Tuesdays, Thursdays and/or Sundays.
**NEW** this year, the U9 and U10 age groups will be following the Grassroots programming standards as set forth by Canada Soccer. All players in U9 will practice together and all players in U10 will practice together, using the station-based training model. This means we will have a variety of stations set up on the field and the players will split into groups and rotate through the stations with their group. Coaches will be responsible for running one station on each training day. A schedule will be sent out prior to the season starting.
Youth soccer cannot function without dedicated, enthusiastic and energetic volunteer coaches to foster a safe, inclusive, positive and fun environment for the children of our communities, and ensure they have an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
If you’ve coached before and plan to do so again, thank you! If you haven’t coached before, we encourage you to consider doing so. We have workshops and resources available to help you get started and become a confident and capable coach. To learn more about coaching at your child’s age level (e.g. requirements, commitment, etc.) please reach out to youthsoccer@riverviewcc.ca or gm@riverviewcc.ca. When you register, please indicate your willingness to serve as a Coach or Assistant Coach with your child’s team.

Registration Details
Our registration fees for the 2026 recreational outdoor soccer season are as follows:
- U9/10 $100 plus MSA fee
- U11/12$200 plus MSA fee
- U13/14$230 plus MSA fee
- U15/16/17/18$240 plus MSA fee
