Introduction to pickleball sponsored by RVCC and Age friendly Riverview

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. It is played with oversized paddles, which are larger than ping pong paddles. Plastic balls with holes in them are hit. The court is badminton-sized (36 inch high), and you can play singles or doubles (2 players per side).

One game can take 15-20 minutes and continues until someone hits 11 points. Players often play 3 or 4 games.

There are many benefits, including an aerobic workout, it tones muscles, improves agility, and you make new friends!

Designed for Older Adults but everyone is welcome!

Pickleball equipment has been purchased and we are exploring options such as regular drop-ins in the hall throughout the winter, and on the new paved rink in the summer. If there is interest, we may also offer more clinics throughout the year, so stay tuned for more.
