Each year, the softball season starts with online player registration in late February or early March and practices start as soon as we can get on the fields or find indoor locations. The regular season typically runs from May to June with two games per week and usually one or two additional practices. Divisional/League playoffs are held in late June. For those teams that qualify at divisional, provincial championships are held in.

Cancellations until April 14 will receive a refund minus a $50 administrative fee. No refunds will be given after April 14.
Coaching
Coaches are important to ensure a successful season. If you want to be a coach or assistant coach please indicate this when you register.
Umpires
Please ask your child if they are interested in umpiring! Umpires will get great support from the league to learn the role. And umpiring can help increase their knowledge of the game!
If interested please indicate this when you register. More information on umpire clinics is available on the Softball Manitoba website: https://www.softball.mb.ca/content/registration-and-clinics
Player Equipment Requirements
Player uniforms (shirts & hats/visors) and catcher equipment are provided by the club.
Individual players will require (at minimum) a properly sized glove, batting helmet with a protective cage and a bat. You will also be required to purchase softball pants and socks in your team color.
Pitchers are required to have a mask while pitching and we do encourage the younger age players to wear them as well when they are playing in the infield.
Optional equipment includes batting gloves, cleats and personal catching equipment. Consult your coach for information on equipment purchases.
Softball Levels
A – Club level. Hosted within our community centres. Plays in May and June.
AA – Introduction to High Performance (when you are registering for A ball, check off the box if you are interested in also playing at the more competitive AA level). AA tryouts take place within each Softball Manitoba designated boundary in May with teams competing after the community club provincials in July and August. All athletes must play club level to participate. This level also acts as a bridge to prepare for AAA tryouts.
AAA – High Performance. AAA tryouts take place in September with teams forming shortly after and practicing year round. Regional club for Riverview is Smittys Terminators. Find out more information here. https://www.smittysterminators.ca/
