Badminton is a racquet sport that can be played in singles or doubles. It is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, with players using lightweight racquets to hit a shuttlecock back and forth over the net. Badminton can be played indoors or outdoors and combines speed, agility, and coordination. The rules are easy to learn, making it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. Whether playing for fun, fitness, or friendly competition, badminton is a great way to stay active and enjoy a social sporting experience.
Next month’s registration will be posted on the third Monday of the month at 12pm. On Holiday Mondays the registration will open on Tuesday at 12pm.
Rules and Play Format
- You must purchase a $40, 10-play pass card at the Riverview Community Centre. Bring your card to each session at the school — a volunteer will sign off one play per visit before you begin. No cash drop-ins will be accepted at the school.
- Please register using the Register button on this page for these sessions. It helps inform organizers how many nets to set up as well as for participants to coordinate games. If you cannot attend please cancel so those on the waitlist can join.
- Sessions are currently limited to maximize participation. If you cannot attend please cancel so others playing are aware and so spaces can be filled by those on the waitlist.
- Skill level is Novice-Intermediate. Please be respectful. Allow everyone an opportunity to play and grow the game in our community.
Riverview volunteers will set-up nets. Please bring a racquet.
