The WMBA Community Centre League is a city-wide league where teams compete against other teams from different areas in the city. Players register online for their community centre and teams are formed based on those Community Centre catchment areas. The WMBA adheres to a fair play and zero tolerance model to ensure young athletes are competing in a Fun and Safe environment. Age Divisions & Game Format
Age 7-8 (Co-ed)
- Winnipeg Minor Basketball
- 1 game per week (Saturdays)
- Practices scheduled by community centre
- 3v3 cross-court games
Age 9-12 Girls & Age 9-13 Boys
- Winnipeg Minor Basketball
- 1 game per week (Saturdays)
- Practices scheduled by community centre
- Ages 9-10: 3v3 cross-court games
- Ages 11-13: 5v5 full-court games
Age 13-17 Girls & Age 14-17 Boys
- Winnipeg Minor Basketball
- 1 game per week (Sundays)
- Practices scheduled by community centre
- 5v5 full-court games
Fees
Total League fees are made up of the WMBA Membership Fee ($172.00), Community Club basketball fee, and an annual Canada Basketball membership fee ($9.00).
Spring 2026 Season Important Dates:
Registration Opens: Sunday, February 15th, 2026

Practices begin: Between April 6th-10th, 2026
First league games: April 11th & 12th, 2026
Playoffs (Ages 11+): June 6th & 7th, 2026
